B.ridal.Β

My cousin who is getting married in 2017 has actually booked Naw.wa.rah too just like me. She had initially planned for a combined wedding but due to some issues, it has been decided that it will be 2 separate events.

Thus, her initial $600 of first deposit to Naw.wa.rah will be forfeited since she has decided to book a.at bridal. The reason for the change is she now has to book bridal for 2 days instead of one. Hence, due to constraint budget and the fact that it is no longer a combined wedding, she needs to change her bridal vendor. She’s not changing her deco with SID and Kompang Ak.rab though. Previously, she had also take  ESA weddings with me but after finding out that its only XX poses and for additional extra pic, it may cost an additional 100+ RM, she went to ask for a refund and booked A.at for post wedding photoshoot.

My cousin texted me personally to ask for my opinions if it is okay of her to change her vendors especially since I know T.ash.a personally.

Anyways..From what I understand, her package with Naw.wa.rah consists of 2 customised outfits. A.at Bridal is offering her 3 customised outfits (minusing off the depo she had spend on Naw.wa.rah), duit kipas and also providing duit hadang! And it is seriously affordable, I tell you! This is so as her fiance side is also taking A.at catering + deco and the both of them did engaged A.at for photography as well. So, A.at had considered her bridal package as an all in one package.

Anyways if any of you would like to engage Naw.wa.rah, please do buy the package from my cousin canπŸ˜…?

I did asked her to ask if she can transfer to others etc and this was their reply :

InshaAllah can yup. But they have to follow the latest package that we have. But the deposit tt we have frm u tu can transfer to them.

Honeymoon

  1. Japan
  2. Korea
  3. Australia
  4. Lombok
  5. Thailand
  6. Boracay
  7. Maldives

Planning for a short minimoon right after wedding makes us feel really excited because we have not travelled together before and we would like to choose a place that we can build as much memories together.

Although fiance was like “I don’t mind anywhere as long as I am with you. Staycay in singapore also can..” I’m the one who went “YOU CRAZZZYYY BOO?!” πŸ˜‚ I need my getaway, my well deserved break you see ..

We have cancelled out on Boracay because it’s monsoon season, Japan & Korea as it’s summer time as well as Maldives because really we are not the 24/7 beach kinda people. I need my city a little bit of my shopping life too for myselfπŸ™ˆπŸ™ŠπŸ˜…. We did not opt for Bali as I have been there with my family for nearly 2 weeks and although it is different to go there with a hubby, but I’d prefer exploring a new place. Hence, we have decided to add in Lombok / Thailand into the picture despite already planning on our Aussie trip.

Planning for the Aussie trip makes me sad because it will only be for about 5/6 days since I do not have much leave as my wedding date is not during a school holiday. And it seems wasted to go there for a short trip. Although scoot had a promo then, I’m glad I did not took it as my girls kept saying that we gotta splurge on a good flight especially if its right after your wedding and journey takes longer than 3 hrs. My girls have also been telling me that I should opt for something relaxing because right after the wedding we will be super tired. Mr Fiance is in love with the Aussie trip already because it’s winter time and we can explore so many places! I’m in love with it too but there’s always something holding us back when we want to book the flight / accomodations. In fact I have asked for private muslim tours, car rentals, finalised the itinerary & accomodation. But, we’re prolly not going Aussie because there’s too much adventures and places to explore that really 6 days 5 nights would not be sufficient for us.

Infact, we’ll probably be having a minimoon at Msia during our ESA postwedding photoshoot. Both of us would also like to head to Europe / Iceland/ New Zealand for our main proper honeymoon.

Aussie trip:

Will be a mix of adventure but relaxation as well as some shopping trip. Hot air balloon / skiing / sky diving / helicopter ride etc but it is all so expensive $$$$! We need about $400 per activity. <and some its per pax, heh>

Lombok / Thailand :

Will be mostly for relaxation and a little bit of shopping trip. But damn can go for spa everyday! I like!

The good thing about opting for Lombok / Thailand is the fact that we get to save half of the honeymoon budget that we initially set aside for Australia! And as we both plan to go for our proper main honeymoon end of the year to Europe, we can pump that extra money for our Dec trip, In Shaa Allah.

Most importantly just look at this amazing view Masya Allah! Can we just go already?! Just take my money already please.

And yes finally uploading this blog post because I realised it was set to draft πŸ˜‚

Oh yes, a colleague of mine just mentioned that he had booked a surprise honeymoon to Lombok. He had booked a villa via airbnb though and it cost abt $200 per night while the bikes rental per day is at $13.50!

I have already asked several hotels in both Lombok and Thailand (venue secret first haha) if they have halal dining options! And also for their private romantic dinner pricingπŸ˜πŸ™ˆ  Beau and I were so close to book both flights and accomodations few days back but I’m thinking twice because there are other villas too that I’m in love with! Or maybe we’ll book the island which is 10 mins off Phuket and have that villa to ourselves? We shall seeπŸ€”

Another milestone(s) achieved.

Where do I even begin since I have not been blogging πŸ˜…? I used to love to update my blogs in the past but recently, I’ve started to not like doing so just because….

Anyways, let’s do a pretty short update ok? I can foresee that I’ll probably next update my blog end of the year after my unisim exams.

It’s less than 9 months to our big day and I am super stoked about it! Currently right now though, I still have yet to book my henna artist though. Been getting quotations from nearly all of the henna artists in Singapore but my heart has not been set with any one of them. I am still thinking about the ones from KL. Love her works although it is instant henna but to fly her in from KL, I think I’d rather fly in a KL MUA instead!

Here’s a list of items that has been booked this year and I doubt I’ve updated you guys about it:

  1. Kompang AKRAB
  2. Cherriesmitten bouquet (courteousy of dearest gf S.A, thank you love!) & another bouquet done by my dearest gf N.S! Thank you!)
  3. Gubahan and bunga rampai trays. (mine is sponsored by gf N.S and I engaged sweetz creation while fiance got our prev engagement vendor- hocus pocus to do his)
  4. Malay Dance group performance (sponsored by the fiance’s brother & sil, thank you so much!)
  5. Hantaran gifts
  6. Selected HDB FLAT (HIGHLIGHT OF THE YEAR!)
  7. Measurements taking & bridal designing meeting with our vendor (trust me i was super fickle, I only thought about the designs the day before and on the day itself lol)
  8. Meetings with wedding planners
  9. Honeymoon planning! (YAY!)
  10. The most dreaded venue hunting
  11. Still considering cakes/cupcakes for hantaran exchange but leaning towards this vendor because of the price, design and reputation!

I think that’s pretty much about it as of now. Besides the fact that both fiance and I are on the fence about our caterer’s decor πŸ˜… We have been thinking of engaging Anggun Decor since they’re still available but to part with close to $9k, we prefer saving that money for our Europe trip end of next year! We’re going for a minimoon since it’s not the school holidays so we’ve decided not to choose Japan/Korea and head for Australia.
BUT, during our recent discussions, we seem to think that 6D5N trip to Australia is not enough and right now I am thinking of choosing Maldives / Thailand Ko Samui / Bali instead. I think a beach honeymoon will allow us to relax right after the wedding but then again, we’ve shortlisted a few activities and hotels for our stay in Australia. How now brown cow. Plus, the fact that it will be winter time in Australia! I did researched on Boracay previously but our honeymoon dates are the monsoon season actually so 😩😞!

On a side note, I’ve been wishing that both of us had booked Is/ta/na catering because their decor is still pleasing to the eyes on top of their amazing yummy food!! Pu/te/ri wedding catering has always been fiance’s family side of go to caterer but future mil had instances where for certain weddings, the food wasn’t as fantastic. Apparently it’s true because a colleague of mine got them for her wedding in 2014 and as she had known about it, she requested for a certain cook. But ohwells.

S/M/R catering has yummy food but they do not have their own kitchen and it’s been so difficult to ensure that the venues chosen allows cooking & washing onsite. I did enquire on The Grassroots club last month or was it the month before but our wedding date has already been booked! Mind you back then it was only 11/10 months to the wedding! Emailed 4 CCs and also some country clubs too by the way.

Both CCs at our neighbourhood area allows cooking and washing onsite but for  CC A, it does not allow Saturday wedding since no pre decor set up can be done on Friday. While for CC B, the beautiful room overlooking the lake is pretty small for our 1.5k guests AND the hall is too big since its 8 basketball court! After much calculations, it will cost us more than $10k for the rental of that huge space! But CC B is having an indoor space which is still being renovated. Sadly it does not have an aircon and it is smaller than 2 basketball court. So yeah, a little too small as well. But for the other 2 CCs, which is out of our neighbourhood area, it is available and let’s hope that we can get to book it soon In Shaa Allah!

Assalamualaikum

I have not been updating my blog in the longest time because I’ve been absolutely overwhelmed with so much work to do & trying my best to balance out my social life as well.

Basically, I’ve been too busy with SIM & worklife. I’ve planned 2 events within that same month & Alhamdulillah, it’s been great.

Mosy importantly I have been juggling both school and work life. There was a slight change for my Monday’s and I had to rush straight for SIM classes after work. It is indeed pretty tiring to not have a proper break before lesson and also the fact that the next module’s lesson falls on Tuesday. So imagine for assignments, it’s due on Sunday for the Monday’s class and Monday for the Tuesday’s class. Oh wells. I coud only rant but <s>no one can truly fathom how I feel</s>

Anyways, it is already September and my skin has pretty much cleared up from the pityriasis rosea. Well, except for my scalp as it is still clearing up from the dry+rough skin stage. I swear it was hell going through this whole thing. Like it was really truly a difficult time in my life. And all of the $$$ spend going to the doctors every single time as well as the medicines from the skin center. It did affect my work & school life because I too could not do my unisim assignments proper and let alone, go down for classes. Which sucks by the way as my lecturer did not switched on the classroom cam for online viewing despite emails. Apparently he said it’s up to the school to release the online footage but then, oh wells, forget it.

On a side note, it is about 10 months away to the big day and I swear the challenges I faced in fact comes from my parents sadly. The terms and their thinking as well as how they are not willing to compromise on certain matters is hard because I am doing a combined wedding afterall.

And now I truly understand the meaning of why most bride to bes will be saying how it is in fact our parents majlis because mine mentioned exactly that it is their wedding function heh but I’m the one paying for it all. So I guessed for what they want, I’ll have to fork out more cash somehow and burst my budget = saving more money & taking up tuition.

It is not easy but InShaaAllah we can do this.

Hiatus.

I haven’t been blogging in awhile because I haven’t had the time to do so and hasn’t really been in the pink of health. Like really trulyπŸ˜·πŸ€’.

I’ve totally lost my voice and yet fever’s been going up and down as well. Don’t know why but had chest pain ever since Tues while I was scolding some kids with my already non-existent voice πŸ˜….
Will definitely be on hiatus for some time since my exams are coming up in May too. Absolutely worried for it because my current unisim tutor does not upload his ppt slides nor the classroom recordings. Plus, I have been skipping most of the lessons as I wasn’t well and was on MC.

πŸ˜” totally missed and skipped one of the quizzes because I didn’t realised about it. Sighs. My assignments were also not really well done to me. Oh wells. 😦

Till I meet you all again probably end May with more wedding updates πŸ’•

Ps: updated thelist already!

#weddingprioritiesseries9. Hand bouquet

February bouquet that I received.

Anyhoo, my initial plans for bouquet was to order the one together with Nawwarah Bridal but somehow there was a Feb promotion by CHERRIESMITTEN!

So.. Told my dearest girls about it & my dearest GF decided to sponsor myself as well as my other gf who happens to be the owner of one of the wordpress wedding blog.

Emailed them a month back and in order to book their services, they require 50% deposit !
Alhamdulillah, am so thankful to my friend for helping to ease my wedding burden πŸ™‚ May Allah swt bless your kind souls! Thank you dear!

Loving this one above btw 😍❀️

Initially I also thought of using my engagement pearl brooch boqueut but dah ada rezeki ni, Alhamdulillah πŸ™‚

My darling gf a BTB in May had also wanted to help me do a bouquet. She has no background in this industry at all. And she tried doing her own bouquet for her wedding by practising for her bro’s wedding last weekend. Not bad kan! She did the boutonneire as well as she had learned how to do it during the WTB Diary tea session!

My Pityriasis rosea story

Nothing wedding related.I’ve been wanting to update on my wedding plannings but been too busy with work, school, tuition and getting sick. Progress has been made for the kompang, dancers, bouquet and prolly booking to cofirm the gubahan soon! Thank you & Alhamdulillah for wonderful friends and family who will be sponsoring those above except for kompang. <kalau nk sponsor bilang i k haha>

For the whole month of February, I have been falling sick nearly each week. “Are you okay?” was definitely one of the questions that I have been asked one time too many. The truth is, I am not okay. But to make things simpler and not prolong the list of questions and all, I tend to just reply that I am okay. When the fact is, I truly am not okay.

What I truly would like to say is that, “No, I am not okay and you could definitely see it from my makeupless pale face. My whole body is itching and burning so badly. The room’s so stuffy that I tend to sweat which leads to my rashes spreading and getting worst. My medicines have terrible side effects like nausea, vomitting, loose stools, stomach pain etc. I don’t feel good, what more look good right now <a colleague said I look like I’m in the hospital and he asked what happen to me, why no more prettyyy cantik looking already 😦 he was joking but then again, self conscious you know? >And most importantly, this whole condition will last for a minimum of 6 weeks.”

Early february, I was given 4 days of Mc when I went over to polyclinic because the doctor suspected that it was a case of HFMD. I was down with fever & sore throat plus I had like a few rashes which I thought was just some insect bites. To make matters worst, the ulcers in my mouth was super painful because it was huge & it was like right next to the Uvula. Being a teacher, this is hard because I need to use my voice. It’s painful to talk, what more to drink and eat.

Despite the fact that I was deemed fit by the doctor when I went back to polyclinic for the check up, my fever was still going on and off. My throat was still burning really badly. Within 2 weeks, I realised that I’d rashes on my body & on my arms. Initially, I thought it was some insect bites and I totally changed out the bed sheets, disinfected my room and spring clean it. However, it got bigger and redder plus it was itching super badly..

Booked the appointment and went over to poly and they did not knew what was wrong. I was still down with slight fever then. 4 days later, on the Friday morning, I was still feeling feverish but I pushed myself to go to work, thinking that I will be okay. But way before my lessons start, I seriously felt like fainting. Took my temperature using the digital thermomenter and it was 38deg but tried with the infrared thermometer that my department got from qoo10 and there was no fever, apparently.  It was a 4 period lesson = 2 hrs with the lower pri kids. Halfway through out the lesson, I swear I wanted to faint and it was only then that I realised I had pretty high fever of 38.8deg!

Left work to head over to the doc and it was 39degrees. It was there then at the private clinic that the doctor told me my condition would only go away within 6 weeks. I was in disbelief and thought that she is joking. I was still having slight fever the following Monday and head over to poly as well as to get a referral to Skin centre.

But, it was too long to wait for the appointment that in the next 2 days, I walked in to skincenter despite the slight fever. It was a long wait. But no choice as my face was slightly swollen and I had 2 rashes spots on my face! I was devastated. Reached there at 815am to only get a chance to see the doctor at 12pm! Nevertheless, I am glad it isn’t anything serious. It’s a condition called Pityriasis rosea <glam name but trust me it isn’t glamorous at all>

So what is Pityriasis rosea? Pityriasis rosea is a viral rash which lasts about 6–12 weeks. It is characterised by a herald patch followed by similar, smaller oval red patches that are located mainly on the chest and back.

What about it’s causes? Pityriasis rosea is caused by a viral infection. Children and young adults are more susceptible, for reasons unknown. Recurrences are rare – a person who develops the skin rash has only a two per cent chance of experiencing it again.

Pityriasis rosea tends to be symmetrical and it is yes, all over my body and legs as well on my arms. Of course I am super self conscious to wear short sleeves / midi dresses / skirts ! Sometimes, slightly depressing whenever I take a look at my skin. I’m just glad that it is happening this year and not the following year because I will probably be so upset if I got it nearer my wedding. Let’s all pray for me that it will get better, the itch would be bearable, the rashes would heal faster & that I will be free from this skin condition within the 6 weeks time frame. There are cases that last for months and years in fact.

Really cannot wait to get over and done with this skin condition. I am sick and tired of eating the antibiotics and have all those side effects. Sigh. On my first day of eating the medicines, I suddenly had a painful stomach pain and my head was spinning. I felt like vomitting and thankfully there’s a teacher aid to help relief my final 15 mins. It was super painful that I just held onto the sink in the disabled toilet. It’s still the same now but much much better. The first 3 hrs of consuming the medines from 7-10am is the worst period of time. But it gets better over time.

Oh wells, I just had to rant because I was still having super bad stomach pains and nausea + loose stools today. It’s been 2 weeks and the rashes are still as active as ever. The cream that the doctor gave me has already been used up & the pharmacists at unity/guarduan ain’t wanna sell it to me due to the high steroids level. HAISH.

There’s a reason to everything. And I’m sure that Allah swt has HIS plans for me. Then again, sakit itu penghapus dosa. Amin.

#weddingprioritiesseries8.kompang

18 more months to the big day! HOMG!

Kompang is all up to beau. He is the one in-charge of  finding a kompang group for us. We had shortlisted a few kompang groups based on friends & relatives experience.

  1. Akrab
  2. PERCUSSIONZ by Makyong kedek
  3. Andika Prak bing bing
  4. Kompang Al Falah
  5. KMBTT – Wak Jai (Recommended by beau’s mum as there’s dance segment as well)
  6. Kompang – Aidil (uncle’s contact)
  7. Kompang al’qahhar (cousin’s contact)

Beau had enquired with these groups and sadly, Andika is not available for our big day. As for Makyong kedek, they are not yet open for 2017! These groups above are recommendations by fellow relative members / we have seen their performance live.

The other groups that beau had listed out but not enquired with are these groups :

  1. Kompang putra utara
  2. Kumpulan kompang syabab
  3. Kompang Firqatul
  4. ukiran rentak
  5. Kumpulan kompang nurul ihsan

There’s also a kompang competition coming up this yr too!

I love Akrab and I was secretly hoping that beau would book and choose them too. And he did! So yay!!! Akrab has the cheapest and most reasonable quotation & with their performance we are super sure we would definitely enjoy their performance on the big day.

Side track a bit, super happy because wedding preps and planning are picking up from here. The main vendors are done so now it is left with all of the smaller vendors.
